SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING EXPLAINED

Scottish Country Dancing is the ballroom dancing of Scotland.  It's normally done in groups of eight with dancers moving and turning in different patterns.

It's fast and furious and great fun!

It challenges the mind as well as the body with occasionally catastrophic results.

Done well, it can be very elegant.

The music's great!

Anyone can do it, at any age, as long as you are able to move around the floor.

You can find a slightly more detailed description by looking at What is Scottish Country Dancing Anyway? on the Strathspey Server
