Lesson Plan (Pairwork) and Reflection (Individual Work)
Working in pairs you will design a lesson which integrates the use of creative texts. The lesson you design should be appropriate for the students you are currently teaching and the design should be based on an analysis of your students' needs, capabilities and interests. At the beginning of the lesson plan, you should include a rationale which draws on the relevant literature in the field. While the bulk of the lesson plan should be original, you may adapt other people's ideas (as long as you give them credit). After you have designed the lesson, each teacher should try it out with their students. After teaching your lesson, you should reflect upon your experiences and include an evaluation and analysis in your final report.
Presentation (Pairwork)
Each pair should present their lesson plan to the class in a short presentation/micro-teaching.
Journal
Throughout the semester you will be asked to complete various short tasks in and out of class. You should keep these assignments in a journal which you will hand in for assessment, first at the end of week 6 and second at the end of week 13. You may also use the journal to express any other thoughts or creative ideas you have (for extra credit).
Class Participation
This grade will assess your performance (interest, enthusiasm) in in-class activities.
