Journal

The main assignment for this course will be a journal in which you respond to the issues that we have discussed in class on a weekly basis. Each weekly journal entry should be at least 200 words. It can take any form you wish: a reflection, an argument, a story, a poem, or remarks about the readings. You can also comment about any related media (newspaper articles, songs, films) that are not on the reading list. The schedule page for each lesson will include suggestions for journal writing. You should hand in your journal for assessment twice: once at the end of week six, and once at the end of the semester.

Class Participation

A large part of your grade in this class will be for class participation. This means that you are expected to participate actively in class discussions and activities. The class participation grade also covers your participation in the course Yahoo Group Feminist and Gay Literature Forum.

(Each student must send at least three messages to the Forum.)
