Characteristic Features

- Has a flattened shell, open umbilicus, and strong spiral cords.

- Large specimens measured up to 3-4 cm in diameter, and often have
exteriors that are obscure heavily encrusted to basic sculpturing.

- Coloration varies from brown to reddish, and to white for the heavily
encrusted specimens.

-The parietal region is often orange with a white columella, and the interior
is nacreous.

Habitat
It is common on both boulder and sandy shores
where it browses on algae.
