Characteristic Features

-A large animal has a thick heavy shell, tail spire, and outer lip that is
thickened and slightly flaring.

-The *siphonal canal in mature specimens is so enclosed by the growth of
the dhell base that it appears as a round hole *anteriorly.

-From 4-6 cm in shell length, and a drab dirty-brown colour.

Ecology
Habitat
It is commonly to be found in mangroves and so on some
muddy shores, quite high up the shore near the high water
mark. It also climbs to some extent into the mangrove foliage.
