Characteristic Features

-Ovate, whorls shouldered and nodulose; fasciole moderate, subumbilicate
10-13 axial ribs per whorl, crossed by nodulose and scabrous spiral
cords; outer lip with 5-6 inner denticles, columella with 1-3 anterior
denticles.

-Dark purple-brown to black; lip and columella violet or bluish, sometimes
with a brown patch on the parietal wall.

-4cm in length
