In a fascinating study of primiparae (women
pregnant for the first time) in Abredeed. Thomson (1959) found that
stature was stratified by the occupation of the subjectˇ¦s father, by her
own occupation and her husbandˇ¦s occupation but remarkably, that tall
girls had a stronger tendency to marry upwards, with respect to their
fatherˇ¦s and their own occupations, than did short ones. |
