In general, anthropometric data have not
been considered as privileged or confidential information, even when
obtained by military authorities. Occasional industrial or commercial
survey data have not been released, but otherwise the data have been
freely published in the open literature. In regard to anthropometric
surveys sponsored by governments or industry, it would be desirable for
WHO to act as a repository for voluntary contributions of data. For
example, such data would be very useful if a manufacturer should wish to
develop a machine or tool for regional or world-wide distribution. |
