IMPROVER'S COURSE INFORMATION

    Aim

The aim of this course is to teach participants a range of basic steps and formations found in Scottish Country Dances and so to enable them to take part in social dancing.  In addition to revising and extending the formations covered in the beginner's course, this course also serves to introduce participants to some of the more common dances which may contain unusual figures or combinations of figures not covered in the beginner's course.
 

   Content

By the end of the course, participants will be understand and be able to do the following:
 
Steps All basic dance steps for reel, jig or strathspey
Formations Revision of figure of eight; poussette; allemande; reel of three, turn corner partner
