| Description: | This is not a formal class, though there will be some focus on learning formations. The emphasis is on social dancing and all dances are walked through. |

| Cost: | $50 per evening for members of the Hong Kong Highlanders or the Hong Kong Cricket Club, $70 per evening otherwise. Payment is on an attendance basis; there are no annual or termly fees or membership fees for the Reel Club itself. Becoming a member of the Highlanders can save you some money though, as well as giving you access to a fantastic social whirl. |
| To join: | Just come along any Monday night when there is a session and join in. You'll find it easier if you've done some dancing before, even just a little. If you have never done any dancing before you might want to consider joining one of our beginner's courses first. |

Reel
Club Beginner's, Improver's and Intermediate Courses
| Description: | A series of classes covering the basic steps and formations of Scottish Country Dancing aimed at giving you all you need to take part in the regular social whirl. Courses generally last from four to eight weeks, but the course content varies so that participants can continue from one course to the next if they wish. |

| Dates: | Beginners:
10 September to 5 November 2001, not including 1 October (8 lessons)
Improvers: 12 November to 5 December 2001 (5 lessons) Beginners: 8 January to 5 March 2001, not including 29 February (8 lessons) Improvers: 12 March to 2 April 2001 (4 lessons) Intermediate: 7 May to 11 June 2001 (6 lessons). Open only to those who have already attended a beginner's class or equivalent. Watch this space for details of further courses. We prefer course participants to start at the beginning of the course, or at least no later than the second week, to avoid slowing down classes. |
| Cost: | The Beginner's course is $400 for members of
the Highlanders and members of the Hong
Kong Cricket Club; $550 for non-members (includes Highlanders membership
for one year). The Improver's course costs $250/$350 and the Intermediate
course costs $300/$360. The cost includes attendance at thefirst
hour of the regular Reel Club meetings.
Note that, while it is not required for higher level courses, joining the Highlanders will only cost you $50 joining fee plus $100 annual subscription, so you may want to consider doing so. Application forms will be available at the classes. |

Kong Highlander's Advanced Class
| Description: | This is a class for experienced dancers which aims at developing technique and providing demonstration teams. |
