| Novel Analysis 40% (due week 13) | ||
| In this course you will be required to read one novel of your choice and write an analytical paper on some aspect of it (2000-3000 wds.) By week three you should inform your instructor of your choice of novel and seek his approval. By week 11 you should submit the topic of your paper. | ||
| Short Story Sharing 30% | ||
| Working in pairs, students should choose a short story and design and lead classroom activities/discussions about it. Story sharing will take place in week 9 and week 13. Students should inform their classmates of the stories they plan to use at least two weeks before the sharing takes place. | ||
| Reader Response Forum 20% | ||
| Each week you should participate in the reader response forum on Blackboard, sharing your impressions of the stories/novel chapters you read that week and responding to other students' comments. You should participate in the forum before you attend the class. | ||
| Class Participation 10% | ||
| This course will involve a lot of classroom discussions and activities. Students are expected to attend the calls consistently and participate enthusiastically. | ||
