| Panorama shots, in most cases are
little more than regular photos which have been cropped dramatically.
After all, only few cameras are especially designed to take panorama photos.
Hence, you will be "throwing away" about half or more of the original image
content, resulting in a much smaller (narrower) picture, or in the need to
enlarge the photo more so as to have regular height and oversized photo
length.
A number of cameras now enable panorama shots, including some high-end point-and-shoot cameras, such as the Contax Tvs, as well as one-time-use cameras. Of course, if you have digital images, you can crop to your heart's desire and aren't stuck with the standard panorama format offered by your camera. The photo below was taken on a gray day in Hong Kong. Note that although it is a color photo, it almost appears to be black and white only.
