Our Mission
How can
mechanical engineering interact with biology?
In recent decades, the development of micro and
nanotechnology have opend unprecedented promises for
investigation at the scale of biomolecules and cells. In the
Laboratory
for Biomeasurement, we leverage the merits
of microtechnologies to
measure and intervene the biomolecules and cellular systems. It allows
implementation of physical stimulus such as stretching, torque
or geometric interface, chemical stimulus such as diffusion gradient of growth factor
or cytokines, and in-situ probing such as intracellualr
nanosensors that enables the immediate acquisition of
cellular response.
Overall, we aim at
providing a repertoire of engineering tools for
insightful discovery and solution for tissue engineering, cancer, and
disease diagnostics.
