Definition:

Vertical distance from the seat surface to the acromion (i.e. the bony point of the shoulder).

 

Applications:

Approximate center of rotation of the upper limb.

 

Corrections:

10mm for heavy outdoor clothing; up to 40mm reduction for ‘sitting slump’; seat compression.
