Chi Chung Alan, FUNG obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2013. Training in theoretical Physics enabled him to perform research in theoretical Neuroscience. In 2015, he joined the RIKEN Centre for Brain Science (formerly Brain Science Institute, RIKEN) as a postdoctoral researcher. After that, he moved to the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) to serve as a staff scientist. In Feb 2022, he returned to Hong Kong and joined the City University of Hong Kong.
